Description

M. Souleymane FAYE est chercheur et professeur titulaire de linguistique au Centre de Linguistique Appliquée de Dakar - CLAD - de l’Université Cheikh Anta Diop. Il est spécialiste des langues dravidiennes de l’Inde (du Tamil ou Tamoul en particulier), du wolof et du sérère du Sénégal. Professeur de phonétique et de linguistique anglaise à la Faculté des Lettres et Sciences Humaines, il enseigne également le wolof et le sérère conversationnels à des apprenants étrangers depuis plus de vingt ans. Il est auteur de plusieurs travaux scientifiques et de vulgarisation dans toutes ces langues, dont des grammaires didactiques, des manuels de lecture et des dictionnaires usuels. Il est, depuis 2006, auteur-contributeur du dictionnaire Le Petit Larousse et l’Encyclopédie Larousse.fr, pour l’intégration du français d’Afrique francophone communément appelé “africanisme”. Il parle français, anglais, espagnol, tamoui, wolof et sérère. Ce dictionnaire compte 2500 entrées français-wolof et 1500 wolof-français.
